The Special School Committee Meeting of the Brockton School Committee was held this evening, at six.
These minutes contain a summary of the meeting and list items that were under discussion.
Mayor Sullivan, Chair called the meeting to order at 6:05 p.m., followed by a salute to the flag.

Mayor Sullivan took a roll call to establish a quorum.

Agenda #2 Discussion and Potential Vote on School Committee date change
Mayor Sullivan discussed moving the August 17th Regular School Committee meeting to Wednesday, August 25, 2021.
School Committee members agreed to the change.
Mr. D’Agostino motioned to suspend the bylaws of the Brockton School Committee relative to the Tuesday
Regular scheduled meeting on Tuesday, August 17, 2021 to Wednesday, August 25, 2021, BHS Little Theatre at 6:00 p.m., seconded by Ms. Sullivan.
The motion passed unanimously.
Agenda #3 – Executive Session
Mayor Sullivan called for a vote to go into Executive Session and read the following statement for the record.
“The Committee will enter Executive Session: Pursuant to M.G.L. c. 30A, § 21(a)(2) To conduct strategy sessions in preparation for negotiations with nonunion personnel or to conduct collective bargaining sessions or contract negotiations with nonunion personnel – Interim Deputy Superintendent. The committee will return to open session following this Executive Session.
Mr. D’Agostino motioned to enter Executive Session, seconded by Ms. Asack.
The motion passed unanimously.
School Committee Members entered Executive Session at 6:11 p.m.
School Committee Members returned from Executive Session at 7:08 p.m.
Mayor Sullivan took a roll call to re-establish a quorum.

Mr. D’Agostino motioned to approve a 1-year contract Interim Deputy Superintendent naming Dr. Susan Szachowicz. Seconded by Ms. Asack.
The motion passed unanimously.

None
Mayor Sullivan thanked BCA and Malinda Campbell, Executive Assistant to the Superintendent for their assistance relative to School Committee meetings.

Mr. Minichiello motioned to adjourn. Seconded by Mr. Sullivan.
The motion passed unanimously.
