Dr. Leah McKetty Joins the Raymond School as its New Principal

BROCKTON- Brockton Public Schools has appointed Dr. Leah McKetty as the next principal of the Raymond School. 

Dr. McKetty, who has more than 15 years of leadership experience in urban public education, will formally begin her work at the Raymond on Aug. 18. 

Throughout her career, Dr. McKetty has led successful school improvement initiatives focused on raising student achievement and building inclusive school communities. At both The Harbor School and Winthrop Elementary, she oversaw academic turnarounds that significantly improved student outcomes while prioritizing a culture where all students felt supported and valued.

At Winthrop Elementary, Dr. McKetty led the school’s transformation from turnaround status to recognition as an Innovation School focused on math and science. Her leadership has also been marked by a strong commitment to staff development, mentoring educators and fostering professional growth as part of comprehensive school improvement strategies.

“I am excited to join the Raymond School Community!” Dr. McKetty said. “I look forward to supporting student success, partnering with families and staff, sharing my experiences, and learning and growing together with everyone."

Prior to becoming an administrator, Dr. McKetty taught kindergarten as well as grades two, four, and five in Boston. She holds a doctorate in education from Boston College, a master’s degree in education from Lesley University, and a bachelor’s degree in education from Boston College.

“Dr. McKetty has an extensive track record in school improvement,” Superintendent Priya Tahiliani said, “and I look forward to the work she will do at the Raymond that not only replicates but expands upon the success she’s had leading urban schools.”
