After reading Night by Elie Wiesel in English IV and U.S. History II, our PROMISE Seniors and Sophomores had the powerful opportunity to bring history beyond the pages of a book.
Through a partnership with the Lappin Foundation, we welcomed Holocaust survivor Magda Bader to share her extraordinary story.
Ms. Bader spoke with our students about her survival in two concentration camps, forced labor, her harrowing escape, and her life after the Holocaust. Her courage, resilience, and commitment to education left a lasting impact on our scholars.
Experiences like this remind us why learning history matters — not only to understand the past, but to carry forward the lessons of humanity, empathy, and responsibility.
We are grateful for the opportunity to listen, learn, and honor her story.
Thank you to Ms. Debbie Colton, President and Executive Director of the Lappin Foundation, Ms. Ovadia, and our amazing and heroic speaker, Ms. Magda Bader, for speaking with our PROMISE Scholars!
