Ashfield and BHS Drone Teams Earn First and Second in Regional Competition

Brockton's Middle School and High School drone teams won first and second, respectively, in the New England Regional Aerospace Robotics Competition on Saturday, May 9. Each team earned a berth in their respective National Championship rounds.

Despite inclement weather forcing the event indoors, the competition showcased the innovation, teamwork, and technical skill of twelve teams representing six schools: Belmont High School, Brockton High School, Burlington High School, Hanscom AFB, Nipmuc Regional High School and River Valley Technical Center (VT).

Each team participated in semi-autonomous flight trials, delivered technical presentations to industry professionals, and tackled an ethics challenge based on scenarios studied throughout the season.
