Travel Advisory Update for the BPS Community

Travel Advisory Update for the BPS Community

Dear BPS Community,

Due to the ongoing spread of the Delta variant, we at the Brockton Public Schools urge all members of our community to delay unnecessary out-of-state travel plans especially to areas where local transmission of COVID-19 is high. When travel is necessary, we ask you to please adhere to the following recommendations put forth by the Centers for Disease Control.

Get tested 3-5 days after travel.

Self-quarantine for 7 days with a negative test or 10 days without a test.

Self-monitor for symptoms of COVID-19.

Unvaccinated students who travel should get tested three to five days after travel and follow the same steps listed above under the “For Unvaccinated Individuals” heading.

If you recovered from a documented COVID-19 infection within the last three months, follow all requirements and recommendations for fully vaccinated travelers except you do NOT need to get a test 3-5 days after travel unless you are symptomatic.

This represents the travel guidance as of September 21, 2021, which is subject to change based on the evolving nature of the pandemic. Additional useful information for travelers is available here.

We cannot stress enough that anyone exhibiting any symptoms of COVID-19 must stay home and self-isolate.

Thank you,

Dr. Linda Cahill
