Hello Virtual Learning Families,
After careful consideration, we have decided to push back the start date for virtual learning academy students in grades 1 to 12 from Thursday, September 2, to Monday, September 13. This will not impact kindergarten students since their first day was already scheduled for September 13. It will also not impact the start date for students at any of our other schools.
We greatly apologize for any inconvenience this might cause. Over the last few days, we received an influx of enrollments, and we therefore need to hire and train additional teachers to accommodate the sudden increase in demand. We feel that delaying the start of school by five school days will allow us to provide a better educational experience to your children.
Our virtual learners may pick up their laptops and MIFI devices on Tuesday, August 31, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and again from 5 to 7 p.m. at Brockton High School in the Azure IRC.
We will provide a variety of independent learning activities on our website that are designed to reinforce and review grade-level skills your child acquired last school year. Although these activities are entirely optional, we believe that they will help your child succeed at the Brockton Virtual Learning Academy. We also hope they will help offset childcare concerns you might have as a result of the delay. You may visit the virtual learning academy webpage on Thursday, September 2, to access the activities.
If you have any questions or concerns, please email me at email@example.com. If you’d like to make changes to your child’s enrollment, please call 508-580-7950 to speak to a registration specialist.
Thank you for your patience and understanding.
