What is Edgenuity?
Edgenuity is a self-guided online course program launched by the Brockton Public Schools on April 13, 2020.
Who can access Edgenuity?
Edgenuity is available to BPS students in grades 6-12. Students in K-5 should continue to follow the weekly packets distributed on bpsma.org and the various learning activities available on Clever.
How do I access Edgenuity?
Log into Clever using the same login information you would use to sign in to a BPS laptop. If you do not know your login information, please email cleversupport@bpsma.org.
I logged into Edgenuity and my dashboard is blank. How do I access my courses?
The video above walks you through this process with visuals.
If you are on the Edgenuity dashboard, you will see a plus sign in the top right corner of your screen. Click the plus sign. A dropdown of available courses will appear. Click the “enroll” button next to the available courses. Once you click on the enroll button, the course will disappear from the list as it migrates over to your dashboard. When you are done, close the menu by clicking the “x” symbol in the right-hand corner. You will be brought back to your dashboard where you will see all of your courses.
If you do not see any available courses on your dashboard or under the “Available Courses” menu, please contact your school principal/dean of your building.
I logged into Edgenuity and I already have courses visible on my dashboard. What should I do now?
Brockton High School students will likely already have courses visible on their dashboard. You can now begin your courses by clicking “Next Activity” on the bottom right corner of each course. This is also detailed in the video above.
How were the courses assigned?
Courses were assigned by grade level. Our Office of Learning and Teaching made every effort to assign courses that closely align to the courses that students were taking in school prior to the closure.
Why are the course titles/descriptions different than the courses I am currently taking in school?
These courses are not intended to mirror the exact courses you were taking in school, but rather are designed to strengthen your existing skills relative to a particular subject area.
Is there a course schedule/timeline that I need to follow?
We recommend devoting half of a typical school day to completing your coursework. Edgenuity allows you to go at your own pace, so we encourage you to talk with your family about putting together a daily schedule that works best for you.
Will the Edgenuity courses count toward my term 3 grades?
The district will adopt directives or guidance given by DESE as to the impact of the Remote Learning Period on final grades and term grades. Term 3 has been extended and all students will have every opportunity to improve their term 3 grade before grades close. Term 4 grading will be developed if schools close beyond May 4. We will not allow this closure to negatively impact a student’s GPA or overall course grade.
I am having technical problems. Who should I contact for help?
Please email Instructionaltechnologysupport@bpsma.org. Include your name, grade and a detailed explanation of the problem you are experiencing.
