Vocational Education Program

The Vocational Education Program at Brockton High School is an immersive four-year experience designed to prepare students for profitable employment or further education upon graduation. This program differs from our Career and Technical courses in that students must complete multi-year, in-depth vocational training. Students in the vocational program split their time between their chosen vocational program and their core academic courses.

Any student in grades 9 through 11 is eligible to apply for fall admission or admission during the school year subject to availability. If you have interest in applying, please contact your school guidance counselor or Elvio Ferreira, our Director of Vocational and Career Education, by calling
508-580-7665 or by emailing ELVIOFERREIRA@bpsma.org

Vocational and Technical Courses

Brockton High School is proud to offer a variety of courses that allow students to explore various industries and acquire vocational skills that will be useful in college and in their future professions. These courses differ from our vocational program in that students are not required to complete all of the courses and can instead choose to enroll in the courses that most pique their interest.

Additionally, students who enroll in these courses are encouraged to take dual enrollment courses while in high school to further advance their education and/or their career exploration. Between junior and senior year, dual enrollment courses can help students earn up to 12 college credits in addition to high school credits. These opportunities are offered at various colleges, including our local community college. In some instances, courses are offered on-site at BHS.

Students who excel in their courses may have the opportunity to complete an independent study or internship in their field of choice.
