Brockton High School's award winning arts program offers a wide array of visual and performing arts courses. Students may choose from courses such as Ceramics, Printmaking Illustration, Photography, Digital Photography, Digital Imaging, Drawing and Painting, Art Studio, Advanced Placement Art Studio, Acting, Film, Technical Theatre, and Set Design. Student artists are encouraged to demonstrate learned knowledge by using their skills to create meaningful and original pieces of art. Students have a many opportunities throughout the year to showcase their work to the school and community.
The 9-12 Art Curriculum fosters an aesthetic, intellectual and stimulating atmosphere that demands creativity, technical proficiency and the demonstration of literacy skills. It is designed to encourage a student's awareness of his/her surroundings in life and in nature while developing an appreciation of the arts historical, social and global influences.
The curriculum creates a sequential art experience that allows students to form and express their own ideas and emotions through various art forms and media, encouraging individual personal growth
