Robert "Bobby Bonnette, BHS Hall of Famer, is the 2016 recipient of The Albert N Baroncelli Award. Each year this award, in honor of Mr. Baroncelli, a former BPS School Committee member, and member of the Brockton Community School Advisory Board, is presented to an individual who has made a positive impact on the students of Brockton. Mr. Bonnette received this prestigious award at a recent Brockton Rox game. Pictured with Mr. Bonnette (far left) are Maxine Richardson, Director of Brockton Community Schools and retired BHS Athletics Director, Thomas Kenney, and of course the Rox mascot K-O!
In addition to his numerous volunteer efforts, Mr. Bonnette co-founded "Save Our Sports", a program that supports costs and fees for Brockton students to play on teams, often at no cost to the students. Mr. Bonnete is a champion-fundraiser. Recent efforts resulted in two new dugouts being installed on the BHS softball fields! Ms. Richardson says of Bobby, "He has been there every step of the way; he is a fixture at all Brockton sports events."
