Nutrition Workshops



The BPS Family Advocacy and Engagement Center is teaming up with the UMass Extension Nutrition Education Program to offer their popular Certificate Course to the parents of Brockton Public Schools’ students.  

The program, CHOICES: Steps toward Health, is a series of workshops designed to help families with children on a limited income, live a healthier life.


All workshops will be held at 43 Crescent St., Crosby Administration Building, Brockton, MA.

Participants will receive the following:

  • ·       A personalized diagnostic report assessing current diet with the 2010-2015 Dietary Guidelines
  • ·       10 colorful, step-by-step booklets on getting more nutrition & fitness for your money
  • ·       Recipes that will be prepared and tasted in two lessons
  • ·       Reinforcement Gifts! Measuring cups, spoons, shopping list pad, pedometer, food & fridge thermometers.

Complete six lessons, with entry and exit records, and receive a Graduation Certificate, a Healthy Recipes Cookbook, and the Farmers’ Market Shopping Bag.
