Dear Brockton Boxers,

While we know closing school for the remainder of the year is in the best interest of the health and safety of our entire community, you have every right to feel saddened by the loss of your Spring 2020 seasons. Please know that our hearts are with you and we share in your disappointment.

As student-athletes, you have demonstrated your ability to overcome adversity and lead your peers even in the toughest of times. Athletics has taught you the values of determination, perseverance, commitment, patience and mental toughness. This might be a different kind of adversity than what you’re accustomed to, but I know that you will stick together and support one another through this.

For those returning next year, stay focused and know that we are eager to get you back into action next season. If you have questions about college recruitment or would like advice on ways to stay in shape during the closure, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me.

For those of you who will be moving on in the fall, remember that all of your high school memories are so much bigger than any one season. We wish you the best and know you will represent Boxer Country with pride.

Sincerely,

Kevin Karo

Athletics are integral part of the total education of the Brockton High School student body. Eligible young men and women are encouraged to try out for the school’s numerous athletic teams. Each participant must be passing nine credits per term, 18 credits for the year. A student must have a physical examination prior to trying out. The physical examination for athletic participation should be administered by the student’s primary care physician or through the family’s health care provider because he/she has knowledge of your present and past medical history and is able to give a more thorough examination.

Brockton High School is known for its high academic standards, athletic excellence and good sportsmanship. The BHS Athletic Program was selected as the #1 Athletic Program in Massachusetts by Sports Illustrated. The student athletes and coaches of BHS have won many championships and awards, with 40 varsity athletes earning All-Scholastic honors during the 2013-2014 school year. We are proud of our role in the City of Champions.

We encourage all of our alumni and fans to join us in Boxer Country as we continue to build upon our impressive athletic tradition at Brockton High School.
