School Committee Policy


ADMISSION OF NONRESIDENT STUDENTS - JFAB

A student shall have the right to attend the Brockton Public Schools so long as he/she actually resides in the city. No nonresident pupil will be permitted to occupy a seat in any of the schools of the city without the written permission of the Superintendent.

Kindergarten - Grade 5:

Permission may be granted if the change of residence occurs 30 calendar days prior to the end of the school year. At the completion of that academic year, the student will be transferred to his/her new school district.

Grades 6 - 10:

Permission may be granted if the change of residence occurs during the fourth marking period. At the completion of that academic year, the student will be transferred to his/her new school district.

Grade 11:

Permission may be granted if the change of residence occurs after the beginning of the second semester. At the completion of that academic year, the student will be transferred to his/her new school district.

Grade 12:

Permission may be granted for a student who has completed at least two years at Brockton High School, to finish his/her senior year if the change of residence occurs after the student has been declared a senior.
