STUDENT SAFETY - JLI

It is the policy of the Brockton Public Schools that home and school training are very necessary to develop good attitudes and habits concerning safety. Parents are advised to encourage their child to know such information as their own first and last name, address and phone number. Young children should be continually cautioned about such dangers as:

Students should also be reminded about obeying safety rules on the buses and at the bus stop.

First Aid - The school attempts to provide a safe environment, free from accident. If any accident or sudden illness occurs, the parent will be notified immediately.

Any care beyond first aid will not be given by the school and is the responsibility of the parents.

If first aid is necessary the school will provide it. The provisions of Chapter 41, Section l00C, shall protect any staff member who performs first aid services pursuant to this section.

Inclement Weather - During inclement or cold weather, children should not come to school earlier than 15 minutes before the start of the pupil day so that they will not have to stand outside. During extremely bad weather, doors shall be open so that children may enter the building as soon as they arrive at school.
