The policy of the Brockton Public Schools regarding the student use of bicycles is as follows:
Grades K - 6 - The riding of bicycles to and from school by children in this age group is considered extremely dangerous and is prohibited.
Grades 7 - 8 - Students should be actively discouraged from riding bicycles to school.
Grades 9 - 12 - Students may ride bicycles to and from school and bicycles may be locked in the racks provided for them. Students must assume responsibility for lost, stolen or damaged bicycles. In addition, students should be periodically reminded of traffic dangers and hazards.
