Welcome Back to School

☑ Talk to your child about pedestrian safety if they are walking to school or if they are waiting at a bus stop. Explain to them the importance of crossing busy roads at crosswalks and remind them to wait until cars on both sides of the road come to a complete stop before crossing.

☑ Save important dates, including Open Houses, school-family conferences, early dismissal days and vacation days, in your phone’s calendar or on an electronic calendar. You may also subscribe to our calendar on bpsma.org to automatically import dates to your calendar.

☑ Subscribe to text messages by texting “YES” to 675-87. This is the fastest way to receive notifications from the district.

☑ If your child takes a bus, visit our Transportation Department page for the 2022-23 bus routes.

☑ Complete your child’s handbook forms no later than Friday, September 9, so we have the most accurate and up-to-date emergency contact information on file for them.

☑ Talk to your children about whether or not you’d like them to wear a mask in school. Masks are not required in our school buildings, however many of our students and staff members choose to wear them. We will do everything we can to support students and the decision they have made in consultation with their families. Please review our latest COVID-19 guidance here.

☑ Avoid unnecessary absences by scheduling travel plans outside of school hours. Consistent attendance is critical to a successful education. We will enforce the attendance policy as written in our student handbooks. Given the ongoing nature of the pandemic, sick students should remain home and we will excuse those absences as outlined in the handbook.
